Single-pane safety glass (4 to 19 mm), partially pre-stressed (3 to 12 mm) or in combination with laminated safety glass and sun protection glass. Insofar as it is required by the usage, the TSG passes the heat-soak test for up to 8 hours soaking time. All processing operations of safety glass are carried out with CNC-controlled machines. As a result, on request, tolerances of +/- 0.3 mm are possible.

TSG (tempered safety glass) Sicuro (maximum glass size up to 2.500 mm x 6.000mm)

In contrast to normal float glass, which produces sharp-edged pieces when it breaks, with TSG Sicuro a fine mesh of small, mainly blunt-edged glass pieces are produced when the stable state is destroyed. The danger of injury if the glass breaks is reduced considerably.

TSG Sicuro is a thermally pre-stressed glass. Pre-stressing is achieved by heat treatment. TSG Sicuro is heated quickly and evenly to a temperature of over 600°C and afterwards quickly cooled by directing cold air onto it. As a result of the slow cooling of the core of the pane it contracts more. This process is prevented by the outer zones which are already fixed. The stress distribution characteristic of single-pane safety glass is this achieved in this manner: The outer surfaces are under compression stress, with the core of the glass under tensile stress, and both stress types are in balance.

As well as the excellent safety-glass qualities, TSG Sicuro also stands out in comparison with traditional float glass due to the following characteristics:

  • Increased bending tensile strength and pressure resistance
  • Increased resistance to impact and shock
  • Increased resistance to variations in temperature

LSG (laminated safety glass) Sicluamit

Laminated safety glass (LSG) consists of two or more panes of float glass, which are firmly connected to a unit by tough, flexible, highly tear-resistant Polyvinyl Butrial films (PVB). The safety effect of LSG is based on the high resistance to tearing of the intermediate PVB layer and its high degree of adhesion to glass. In the case of mechanical overstressing by impact, the glass cracks, but the fragments stick to the intact PVB layer. Danger of injury is thereby  reduced and the glazed opening remains closed. By combining different thicknesses of glass and films, the following safety characteristics can be created:

  • Impact resistance
  • Ballistic performance
  • Explosion resistance

Basically, functional glasses, such as sun protection glass and privacy glass can also be put in instead of single panes with LSG. Furthermore, all LSG units can be equipped as insulating glass with the functions of sun, heat and sound as well as fire protection.

Depending on the desired function and the resulting combination, one or more PVB layers are put between the individual panes and are combined with the glass in a rolling process. Afterwards, the pressed combination is put into a hot-air autoclaver, where glass and intermediate layers are combined into one unit by heat and pressure. The production process enables the connection of several layers of the same or different types of glass so that laminated safety-glass can combine the advantages of the different layers.
