| SG-System-StandardPre-assemblyWith Steindl-SG, heat and sun protection glass with a special UV-resistant edge compound (insulating glass sealant) is glued onto aluminium U profiles or high-grade steel adapter frames at the factory using pre-compressed spacing tape and special silicon under exactly defined conditions. StaticsThe structural calculations for all glass thicknesses are carried out according to the proposed use and the resulting loads such as snow, wind and suction loads. SystemThe adapter frames for the Steindl SG Façade System do not have to be produced according to pre-defined dimensions, as with conventional systems. The adaptation of the adapter frame to the required width for gluing means that this system has, uniquely, no maximum size. The corner connectors of the adapter frames are glued and pressed with solid corner connectors. As a result of this compact connection method, all loads arising are transmitted to the load-bearing construction. | |
| SG-Point-SystemAttachmentWith this construction it is not necessary to drill through one of the panes of the insulating glass elements. Thus any possible cold bridges around the point-mounts are prevented. The Structural Glazing elements, which are prefabricated under exactly defined conditions, are connected to the construction on site. The built-in panes with aluminium intermediate rings are put in place in the drill holes in the glass structure. The articulated bearing with a built-in ball joint is screwed into this using a fine-pitch thread. The ball joint with M12 bolt thread is then secured to the construction present on the building - in accordance with the static requirements. Pane constructionThe in terior spane of laminated safety glass always consists of a single pane of safety glass, Sicuro, or of partly tempered glass. The drill holes for holding the built-in panes are in this pane. The outside pane of laminated safety glass consists of a partly tempered sheet. Circular partical-painting in silver prevents a direct view of the built-in panes. Since in most cases the outside panes of insulating glass consist of reflecting sun protection glass, this silver partial painting is effectively reflected away so that the supporting points are visible from the outside. StaticsDue to the specially developed point mounting, not only is the wind power which affects the glass from the outside (pressure and suction) transmitted to the construction via the mechanical screw fixture but also the weight of the individual elements. Wind load stressing and other design loads which are necessary for the building also apply to the glazing, since this is what transmits the total applied load via the bolted fixture points to the construction. The glass thickness requiredcan be calculated corresponding to the design loads and the sizes of the individual elements.
